however, performance projects and discount offers have deadlines. here are the deadlines for the early bird registration for the workshops and for the performance projects:

b12 spring: 11th of february 2022
b12 summer: 25th of march 2022
b12 fall: 9th of september 2022

the performance project application deadline for the summer is april 29th 2022

you have two options on how you can apply:

1st option - direct application

on each workshop page, you will find an "add to my summer workshops", "add to my spring workshops", or "add to my fall workshops" button. click on it and this workshop will be added to the list of workshops that you are interested in taking. to access this list, click on the icon "my spring workshops", "my summer workshops", or "my fall workshops" next to the menu button, and a pop-up window will open. you will now be able to start the application process.

please decide from the list which workshops you would like to apply for. for all the workshops you don't want to apply for, click "remove" and they will disappear.

you can apply for as many workshops as you would like. if you are applying for more than one workshop, it would help us if you could indicate your workshops from "priority 1" (top priority) to "priority 6" (lowest priority). doing this will save us all a couple of emails, making our correspondence even faster.

please continue to fill out the form. note that all the starred (*) fields are obligatory. to submit the application, click "apply". after sending your application, a new pop-up window will appear, informing you if your application went through. if your application was successfully submitted to us, you will receive an automated email confirmation. please also check your spam folder!

after receiving this confirmation, please allow us a couple of days to get back to you.

2nd option - email application

send us an email at researchordie[at]b12.space with the workshops that you would like to take. please provide us with your full name, full address (including country), a video link and a biography. if you would like, you can add a short motivation letter for each workshop.

you can apply for as many workshops as you would like. if you are applying for more than one workshop, it would help us if you could indicate your workshops from "priority 1" (top priority) to "priority 6" (lowest priority). doing this will save us all a couple of emails, making our correspondence even faster.

once we have received your application, we will follow up with a personalized email confirmation. please allow us a couple of days to get back to you.

for any questions you might have, please send us an e-mail at you[at]b12.space. you can also reach b12 on whatsapp under the following number: +49 151 262 984 91 (mo - fr / 10 am - 6 pm / cet/cest) - up until the festival ends.

we are excited to answer your questions and help you! please note that this hotline is only available for information concerning potential participants. you must talk directly with a representative from b12, as we are unable to answer text messages or call back; if you have a concern and you can't reach anybody on whatsapp, please send an email and we will get back to you asap.

you can apply for research workshops, somatic research, mentoring workshops, outreach, and the framing motion workshop up until one day prior to the start of that workshop.

here are the deadlines for the early bird registration for workshops:

b12 spring: 11th of february 2022

b12 summer: 25th of march 2022

b12 fall: 9. september 2022

the performance project deadline is 29th of april 2022. (due to a pending answer from a grant, we will officially publish all details in march.)

there is no deadline - you can just come early enough on the day of the workshop to the registration desk, register, and then you can take yoga. if you are attending other workshops here at b12, you don't have to apply for yoga. please check the b12 schedule for times. this class has limited space - that's why we register on a first come first serve basis every day it happens. for the no leader impro sessions you can just come and partake - there is no deadline or registration. both workshops are free of charge for all b12ers. please note that they only happen during b12 summer. for non-b12ers the no leader impro sessions are free of charge as well - yoga class is 5 euro.

we try to assemble specific groups for every workshop. we want to make sure that we find the best fit and that everybody in the room can fully participate. this is why we ask you to provide material, so we can judge your level of dedication and technique.

you can find the discounts in the price table by clicking on 'workshop prices' in the menu. or here.

apart from the outreach programs, we are looking for professional level dancers. please be clear in your application about your experience. other than requesting a minimum age of 18 years old, we have no age limit.

if you are taking a workshop at b12, you are eligible to attend vinyasa yoga classes free of charge all four weeks. yoga classes are happening only at b12 summer.

yes, the no leader improvisation sessions are free of charge. no leader impro sessions are happening only at b12 summer.

this year b12 is granting five full scholarships for its 2022 edition for dancers/performers who are coming from the following countries: philippines, indonesia, myanmar, laos and vietnam. we will give away one scholarship to one dancer/performer from each one of these countries. the scholarship lasts six days and includes three 4-day workshops or an equivalent, housing for the entire week, and a travel stipend of 300 euro. dancers/performers have to apply at researchordie@b12.space with the following documents: proof of citizenship and residency, two letters of recommendation, a biography, a video of them performing, a letter of motivation. applicants must indicate the week they would like to come, the workshops they are interested in taking, and an explanation as to why they can't afford to come without a scholarship (all documents in english). the application deadline is may 6th, 2022.

we look forward to receiving your application!

it is obligatory to send us a video link because it provides us with an important perspective of you. if you don't have a representative video link, you can still apply, but it will be much harder for us to grant you a spot.

when a workshop fills up, we create a second "pool" of applicants. if a place opens up, we will offer the spot to one of the applicants in the "waiting pool".

if you already know that you have a conflict, please do not apply for these workshops or performance projects. we look for people who can commit to the entire duration of the workshops.

no, but if you want to help with our decision-making process, you can write a motivation paragraph for each workshop application.

because of many factors, b12 needs advance registration for its workshops - before the workshop begins. you cannot swap right before or after a workshop has started. if you stop participating in your registered workshop, you are not eligible for a refund. if you want to take another workshop instead, you will need to apply, be admitted again and pay the full workshop fee for the new workshop before you can participate.

here we wanted to give you some information about the covid-19 situation. you will find this below - but please keep in mind that all the other festival facts, which are in the faqs or in the terms and conditions are still valid.

we are all facing restrictions around the world, but are very hopeful that, when b12 is happening, we will be looking at a more relaxed situation. it's very likely we will still all have to work with measures, but with the vaccination moving forward we hope it will be less strict.

we are excited to be in the studio together, either with a small group of people or a bigger crowd. all the teachers have been instructed to follow measures, whatever they are at that point and we ask the same from all participants.

for safety reasons, there are a couple of things you have to keep in mind:

traveling and quarantine:

when you travel, measures and rules implemented by governments, states, districts, travel companies, institutions, and b12 may change before and during the festival, due to the pandemic. when you book your trip, please make sure to get travel insurance which allows you to re-book or cancel with a refund for your tickets. please consider quarantine rules. we will work very hard to make the schedule happen the way we have it organized right now. however we cannot guarantee that the schedule will happen as planned, due to covid-19, nor compensate for any financial loss from traveling or quarantine or any resulting loss of funds. generally speaking, if a country issues a travel ban we will reimburse the workshop fee. in that case, we will assess each situation per request.

for more information on traveling to germany, please go here.

cancellation of the festival:

we absolutely don't want to cancel the festival and we will do everything possible to make the festival happen. we put a lot of effort into it once again and are eager to be with all of you. still, we are dependent on how the pandemic develops, so in the event we would have to cancel, we will reimburse you 100% of the workshop fee you paid. please note that in this event we can't compensate for travel or lost funds for accommodation etc.

how to get information on the latest b12 news and measures:

if there is an update, we will inform all of you via the website in the menu under updates and/or email about the latest developments, before and during the festival.

thank you for being with us and supporting us during this difficult time by understanding the measures we have to consider.

please send us an e-mail at you[at]b12.space. you can also reach b12 on whatsapp under the following number: +49 151 262 984 91 (mo - fr / 10 am - 6 pm / cet)
