description

videodance is a complex artistic form that merges dance and cinema in a new ensemble. it is a powerful means of expression for makers who are fascinated with the fusion of different artistic disciplines and want to challenge themselves. how do we develop a videodance idea? how do we move from vision to action? how do we film the motion or dance and compose for the camera? the main objectives of the workshop are exchanges of best practices, working from theory to practice on the triptych body-space-frame, and the development of flexible mechanisms of communication within teamwork. by the end of the workshop, all of the participants will have an overview of the creative production process (pre-production, shooting, post-production). they will enjoy screenings of different genres and techniques, explore the dynamics of the motion behind the cameras, experience non-theatrical shooting with professional dancers, and practice constructive criticism. the workshop is open to dancers, choreographers, directors, camera-operators, photographers, editors, sound designers, video-designers, fine artists, scenographers, costume designers, architects, and anyone who enjoys dance film-making. throughout the workshop, the participants will work with professional dancers, in collaboration with b12 - festival for contemporary dance and performance art.
