biography
after studying english and french literature at oxford university, orlando attended the conservatoire national superieur d’art dramatique in paris, and then the ecole philippe gaulier. parallel to his acting career, orlando continues to study and develop his own teaching practice. He studied creative dreamwork with sandra seacat and kim gillingham in los angeles, meisner, actors studio work, improvisation, clown, mask, commedia, and Integral movement and performance practice at the thomas prattki centre in berlin. orlando’s varied career as an actor has taken him from the royal shakespeare company and the west end to roles in film and tv. these include death on the nile, hamlet, Industry, pride and prejudice, sleepy hollow, monday, bobby, hysteria, jaques et la mécanique du cœur, reign, hbo’s doll & em, bbc’s motherland, the it crowd, count arthur strong, the west wing, and many others. orlando is also a songwriter and, alongside his solo material and performance art pieces, he has fronted a number of bands, including orlando seale and the swell and harpo smith. orlando’s paintings and artworks have been exhibited in london, vienna, france, and greece. his practices draw on his engagement with dreams, myth and the unconscious, as well as his belief in the healing power of play.
