Improvisation
In this workshop, we are going to explore the boundaries of our imagination connected to the physical body. The primal source of movement will be our senses, especially from within our skin. We'll dive into sensations and imagery, where there is no distinction between reality and imagination, or between inner and outer sensations. No distinction will be made between the body and its relational milieu/environment. We will try to expand the boundaries of our body and senses by understanding how we, in our normal/neuro-typical lives, are told that value resides in subtracting from the worlds of experience. The deficit model of sensation begins with the assumption that senses are fixed and located. We will dive into a chaos of exercises and tasks to eventually find our own way of truly moving as our core, limitless and hypersensitive creature. Next to this, we will also explore some of my recent repertoire and do creative tasks.

biography
Adam Khazhmuradov was born in Kazachstan and raised in Belgium. He started his dance journey with street styles like hiphop, house, break, etc, from which he still takes inspiration for his classes. In 2015 he joined the Urban contemporary/Jazz Musical dance education at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In 2018 he joined the Hofesh Shechter company, which he has been a part of for 5 years. he is currently freelancing and is based in The Netherlands. Adam has worked for various choreographers, such as Club guy and roni, Ivan Perez, Maxine doyle, Amos Bental, Yoann Bourgeois, Dalton Janssen, among others. Next to this, he also enjoys commercial work and still tries to invest in the street scene by joining battles, doing classes, etc.
