moving between the worlds

Due to unforeseen changes in personal circumstances, this workshop follows a slightly new structure. Hannes will guide the first three days of this workshop, and the fourth and last day will be led by Scott Jennings. Scott’s and Hannes’s work has many complimentary overlaps and the combination of movement, meaning and physical theatre is deeply rooted in both their respective practices, so the combination of their offers and expertise promises to enrich this 4 day research experience further. During these days we will focus on movement training, performance skills, exploration of physical detail, playfulness, vocal and text exploration. We will investigate the triangle of Knowledge, Instinct and Emotion, and how it is being negotiated by performers in each present moment when working with complex ideas. We will explore physical and vocal language to navigate between the literal and the abstract and will practice an understanding of physicality that can be rooted in expression and story telling, but also transcend the obvious. WIth this workshop, we aim to share a wealth of information, tasks and exercises, that help performers and dancers light up every corner of their performative practice, look closer at the connection of meaning and movement, and push their understanding of physical, vocal, and theatrical work. we look forward to sharing a playful space and exploring with you.

please be aware of our early bird special offer for this workshop! you can apply for this offer up until the 24th of february 2024. after the 24th the regular workshop fee applies. applications are accepted up until one day before the workshops starts.
