KOMOCo research and repertory

This workshop is open to professional dancers and movers from different backgrounds. The first part of the laboratory aims to stimulate the participants towards achieving a greater awareness of the body in a physical and sensorial way, starting with simple tools coming from somatic techniques, floorwork and sensorial stimuli. Consequentially, this practice allows us to explore the full potentiality of our bodies and helps us to gain greater focus on the real source of the movement, whilst exploring improvisational tasks. The leader of the class guarantees to take care of and guide the participants throughout the workshop, according to their own flow of thoughts and perception of their personal needs. The second part of the laboratory is dedicated to the exploration of useful tools for movement composition. Starting from guided improvisations, participants are given the opportunity to put the acquired tools into practice, to explore movement in its variety of qualities, energies, textures, planes of motion, dynamics, theatricality and, thus, begin to discover their own artistic individuality and new physical skills. In the occasion of the workshop being open exclusively to professional dancers, the laboratory will end with the sharing and learning of sections from Komodo's choreographic repertoire.
