from gravity to lightness

The objective of the workshop is to learn how to use the floor when moving, emphasizing the work on the feet as a base and a support for the movement; identify where the weight is and where to find the freedom in our movements through phrases and improvisations. Also studying voice, we investigate how we can reach a theatrical physicality.

some workshops offer group improvisation or partnering. these workshops elements may or may not be possible and the teachers and choreographers will modify their workshops accordingly in line with the health and safety measures required at the time. please stay flexible. thank you!

Lali Ayguadé was born in Barcelona in 1980. She joined the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona for dance in 1996 and after a year, decided to train in PARTS, Belgium. After her training, she joined Publik Eye Company in Denmark, directed at that time by Carmen Mehnert. In 2003, Lali joined the Akram Khan Company. She has worked with Roberto Olivan, of the Enclave Dance Company, in the production, and with Hofesh Shechter. She also worked with Marcos Morau, from La Veronal, in the piece Portland, and with the contemporary circus company Baró d’Evel, In 2015, she created two short duets, Incognito and Saba. In 2015, she created her first full-length work, Kokoro. Later on, she did Iu an Mi, and the last one was Hidden, that just won a prize premis butaca 2021 for choreography. In 2020, she created a duet caleed Gizaki together with Akira yoshida, which was nominated for best choreography in Premis de la crítica. In 2010, she was nominated as Exceptional dancer for the Critics awards of London, and in 2014, as Best Creator. In 2016, she was also nominated as Best Dancer for the Recomana.cat Critics awards in Barcelona. She starred the short movie, TIMECODE, which was awarded with the Palme d’Or at Festival de Cannes, the Goya Award, the Gaudi Award, and was nominated at the Oscars 2016, among others. In 2021, lali won the prize premis butaca as best dancer.

The company was created in 2015. She created a trilogy: Kokoro, Iu an Mi and Hidden. The last piece just won a prize as a best choreography. She also created a duet together with Guillem Chatir called Here. And a duet called Gizaki with akira Yoshida which was nomionated as a best choreography for premis de la critica de barcelona.
