Catching limits

Nadine's classes explore contemporary dance, incorporating movement tasks and situations that playfully connect people and focus on the energetics of body language. She generates a warm atmosphere and inspires students to work intelligently and push the edges of their limits. Nadine has been teaching for over more than 20 years, constantly sharing her passion, knowledge and curiosity for movement and creation. The class consists of exercises to awaken the body and generate awareness of the entire physical instrument. Attention is given to breath, joint articulation, muscle tone and stability to improve physical strength. The students are invited to participate in technical exercises, including floor work, games and challenging phrase composition. They learn to activate and ground their center in a way that allows them to experience optimal freedom in their movement. Guided improvisations and theatrical tasks highlight the class activities to support playfulness and creativity in movement and expression.

some workshops offer group improvisation or partnering. these workshops elements may or may not be possible and the teachers and choreographers will modify their workshops accordingly in line with the health and safety measures required at the time. please stay flexible. thank you!

cia nadine gerspacher

cia nadine gerspacher Is an international platform for the company's own creations, as well as for collaborations with other artists and commissioned choreographic works for dance institutions and other companies. Nadine’s penchant is dance theatre inspired by everyday life. As a choreographer, she conceives and brings to life characters inside imaginative worlds where absurdity, poetry, and unfiltered physicality come together in a narrative way. Grotesque moments filled with humor, vulnerability and transformation play essential themes in her pieces. The repertory invites the audience to engage emotionally and to connect to compelling scenes within the works, regardless of their familiarity with contemporary dance. Apart from creating physical dance theatre, the company organizes dance education workshops and trainings for professional & non- professional dancers.
