SAM Coren

choreographer | former dancer with hofesh shechter / jasmin vardimon / clod ensemble

sam’s unbranded performance themed workshop

Sam's workshop will be heavily based in movement with an interdisciplinary twist, including ideas from clowning, mime and mask work. the workshop focus will be based around creation and performance. The workshop aims to provide tools that will enable the participants to become better physical communicators. What do we have to say? And what is the best way of saying it? We will play with different textures, rhythms, styles and performance qualities with the idea of learning how to control our narrative to audiences. We intend explore every part of ourselves to access the bodies stories, we are made of them and from these stories we choose what to share. there’ll be lots of dance but also lots of influence from theatrical techniques, so be prepared to move, clown, mask, act and discuss what it is to be a dance / physical / contemporary performer in the current climate.

some workshops offer group improvisation or partnering. these workshops elements may or may not be possible and the teachers and choreographers will modify their workshops accordingly in line with the health and safety measures required at the time. please stay flexible. thank you!
