los little guys
little loco(motion)
This workshop is open to all types of bodies and experience levels with movement. we will focus on elements of physical investigation, based on the study of movement improvisation, to discover the range and complexity of our physical potential. Starting from a foundational connection to the floor beneath our feet, we will constantly be adding impulses and accumulating complexity through the layering of focus in our body as a means of improvisation. As the body becomes more stimulated and even overwhelmed, the focus will be to transition this energy into playfulness, in order to create new movement patterns, break old habits, and activate specific areas of the body which may be blocked. Once we begin to enter this trip, and we have enough time for each person to find their own rhythm, we will begin to take these structures and add additional levels to coordinate and rethink how to move through space. The goal of this workshop is to offer a different perspective on how to enter into an improvisational practice by challenging the body, the mind, and the connection between the two; how to bring more consciousness, clarity, and variation into the way we mobilise, and how to use this information to continue developing and enjoying our individual research. The workshop is directed towards experimentation and, while we will be guiding and providing tools to take away from the experience, our main aim is that the group feels encouraged to try new things and find pleasure in movement.
please be aware of our early bird special offer for this workshop! you can apply for this offer up until the 24th of march 2023. after the 24th the regular workshop fee applies. applications are accepted up until one day before the workshops starts.
