transforming bodies

In this workshop, we will explore a dance vocabulary focused on bodily transformation, integrating facial expressions and voice into movement. Through guided improvisation, we will engage various senses to deepen body awareness, which will serve as the basis for developing a rich and dynamic dance vocabulary. The body will gradually incorporate facial expressions, aligning them with physical movement. We will explore the constant interplay between shifting expressions and motions, treating expression not only as an extension of movement but also as a state and emotion. By engaging the muscles and joints of the whole body, we will unlock and explore the full scope of physical freedom, pushing the boundaries of our creative potential. The voice will be explored gradually, evolving from sounds to more refined vocalisations. We will create diverse characters, situations, and images that develop and transform, building a specific vocabulary. In the second part of the workshop, the focus will shift to instant composition, where we will practice composing and performing learned tools in the moment. Participants will make spontaneous choices while creating and performing by blending movement, voice, and expression. Feedback will be shared among the participants, creating a supportive environment for exploration, discussion and creative growth.
