To Dance To Know To Experience

What do we know about what we experience when we dance? If dance can reveal the truth about the potential for relating to the world, what exactly should we look for when practicing dance? The workshop will focus on our body and how actions, movements, thoughts, and imagination merge to shape our experience. We will explore direct paths to experiences and the potentialities that can emerge, and ask what we can cull from the process of making such experiences. We will play with structures from dance, languages, theatre, sound, and visual reference and articulate our attention and awareness within them. We will find our approach toward individual creativity and group exchange. Listen, express, reflect, and imagine, and we won't forget to get lost in the rich, embodied experience of the present moment. When everything clicks together, we are immersed in actuality and potentiality through ourselves to the world.

please be aware of our early bird special offer for this workshop! you can apply for this offer up until the 24th of march 2023. after the 24th the regular workshop fee applies. applications are accepted up until one day before the workshops starts.

Partially To create a space, To experience a sense of reality, To become active in a state of being artists and an audience. Often I start by defining a question / a limitation. I make sure to empty my body from unnecessary information. I formulate a way of behaving, that fits the context of the work happening now. Therefore, Each work is specific in its own structure, aesthetics, style and texture. It is about experiencing emotions rather than illustrating moods, and sensing the borders between things, rather than the things. It is about reality and fiction, presence and absence, concrete and invisible. It is the gap between what Is and what we perceive. It is about the quality of attention, and saying 'Yes, I don’t know.' It reforms definitions, resists itself It accepts that the present disappears, and that presence is relative. Eventually, It is about reaching one person’s eye and soul; Their sense of reality. It is interested in appearing as one thing: the illusion of Freedom.
