Orlando Seale
approaches to acting & devising with Orlando Seale
we will explore embodied approaches to acting and devising. Our point of departure will be either a piece of text or, perhaps, an image arising from the unconscious. the workshop will be playful, process driven and eclectic, touching on improvisation, active imagination, mask, art practice, and somatic ways to engage with the unconscious and build a compassionate relationship with one’s creativity. It will be an opportunity to dive deep, develop your own practice, and embody themes arising from the creative unconscious.

biography
after studying english and french at oxford university, orlando attended the conservatoire national superieur d’art dramatique in paris, and then the ecole philippe gaulier. in parallel to his acting career, orlando continues to study and develop his own teaching practice. He studied creative dreamwork with sandra seacat and kim gillingham in los angeles, meisner, actors studio work, improvisation, clown, mask & commedia. orlando’s varied career has taken him from the royal shakespeare company and the west end to roles in film and tv. these include death on the nile, hamlet, Industry, pride and prejudice, sleepy hollow, monday, bobby, hysteria, jaques et la mécanique du cœur, reign, hbo’s doll & em, bbc’s motherland, the it crowd, count arthur strong, the west wing and many others. orlando is also an artist and a songwriter.
