change your mind. say yes.

How to allow new ideas to be born and become things we could never even imagine? How to let go of what’s unnecessary? How to accept habits? How to change habits? how to open up to the field of potentiality? How to unleash the potential? for 6 days in July, I suggest diving into a constantly changing river of ideas, events and principles, in a playful, improvisational and discursive space. we will overwhelm the mind and body with information, sensations, disputes and insights, which may forever change how we perceive ourselves and our creativity. we're going to be a room of many unique brains that will shape a new reality together. the form it will take will depend on us, and on something else that is unknown and hard to describe in words. say yes. We possess such flexible instruments as our brain and body, which allow us to create worlds. Of course, everything is not so simple or easy to master, and not everything is at our disposal, but the good thing is that there is always something out of the box to which we didn’t pay attention. dancing? yes. singing? yes. making a scene? yes. making an installation? yes. creating a chorus of coughs? why not? not making anything? oh, yes. leaving the studio and making a performance on a train? yes, please. even if we make nonsense, even if we get stuck, so what? there’s always a way out. there’s always a deviation that leads to something that we didn’t know was possible. trust me. say yes.

the description reflects an artist’s idea which was developed at the time it was submitted to b12. it may have changed by the time the workshop or the performance project is starting. please stay flexible. thank you!

Oleg's choreographic language and method is based on the observation of the body in space and space in the body. he sees the movement as a synthesis between the architecture and biomechanics of the body and a sensorial inner journey. In his creative work, it’s important for Oleg to assume and envision that the body is endowed with qualities of the subject and the object, simultaneously, and that it exists in spacetime among pure potentialities and a multitude of choices.
