unleash the beasts
behind tamara’s approach and way of working lies a constant process of self-questioning about how the body finds its space in space; how it places itself, the position it takes and the subsequent impact that it can have, constantly being in a state of negotiation and adaptability. in the actual epoch of legitimising our own selves and owning our grounds, she uses physicality as a trigger point to let go of judgement and the ego, through an experience of different quality propositions going from fluid to abrupt, from trance to repetition, from primitivism to architecturism. she seizes the dancer’s bodily attention into a palpable experience of time and space : the past, the present and the future live together; they carry the movement and the transformation. the research aims to take the students on a journey of musicality through movement and body sounds. the use of electronic, new age and techno music helps to create a circular way of moving, as well as a direct response to the sound, in order to bring up a more animal way of communicating. the senses are multiplied and the focus is sharp. through the deconstruction of gestures, the body is constantly reaching for stimulation and surprise, the dance varies between linearity and animality with a constant quest for strong and unusual physicality, all of which is an exploration of a vast spectrum of movement qualities to be able to build new on a neutral, but solid, base. photographer, corinna rosteck, will be taking pictures.

biography
Born in Serbia, raised in Switzerland, Tamara studied in London before settling in Brussels, where she is now based. Many personalities that she has worked with have affected her way of approaching dance in the on-going contemporary process of materialising the medium, and those that she has found a common ground to explore the many facets of dance-theatre are Rosemary Butcher, Simon Vincenzi, Franck Chartier & Gabriela Carrizo (Peeping Tom), and Tabea Martin. Working as an artist, choreographer and performer, she collaborates closely with music producer and renowned dj, Kangding Ray, since 2022. Together they become a duet of creators, constantly questioning their individual medium and exploring the meeting of sound and movement. she is also leading her research of the ma in the field of dance through her teaching, performing, and creating around the globe. she founded Le Facteur in 2018 and has since been producing work under its name. Le Facteur was born from the inspiration and desire to bring creators together around common artistic values and hybrid performance formats. Based between Belgium, France and Switzerland, Le Facteur develops a structure that reflects on the relationship between different mediums, being mostly dance and experimental music. Several questions then arise about the place of the body, the sensory, the language, or the matter, in the themes the artists from the collective develop through their productions and their exchanges during their workshops.

le facteur started as a solo journey, which was met by people on the way that very naturally shared their steps. a collective was formed where the artists' inspirations are exchanged, mixed and associated. today, operating as a network of creators, it produces and distributes its works, as a carrier of projects and a creator. it delivers the creations that are entrusted to it and circulates its message as a universal letter. le facteur has a value of tradition and durability, built with the aim of longevity, memory and recognition. its mission is to circulate in order to distribute - in this sense, while keeping its aestheticism and artistic line, it does not stop at a kind of performance but wants to be versatile and reach a wide audience. it aims to target mainstream stages, but can also reach a more alternative genre, performing in a variety of environments. le facteur's productions aim to bring worlds, discoveries, and revelations. dance, theatre, design, music, performance, etc, are some of the many influences and components of the work of a collective that thrives on diversity. it is with this precise goal in mind that it wishes to continue its travels and collaborations with different artists and creators, forming a perennial collective, regularly proposing new, original and complete creations. it also sets itself the challenge of maintaining a coherent style and personal identity, while combining influences and audiences on an ever-increasing scale.
