biography
Franziska was born in former East Berlin, danced with the German State Opera Berlin (today’s Staatsballett Berlin), and later joined the Peter Schaufuss Ballet in Denmark. In 1998 she moved to London as a freelance artist, training as a Gyrotonic®, Pilates, and yoga instructor. She has been invited to guest-teach at international dance companies, including Random Dance, Richard Alston, Ballet Preljocaj, and more. Today, Franziska teaches at Pineapple Dance Studios and from her studio in East London. Additionally, she is a trained hypnotherapist and IFS-informed therapist, supporting dancers with stage fright, anxiety, and body-related challenges. Franziska offers a dynamic stretching class designed specifically for contemporary dancers looking to explore fluidity, strength, and mind-body connection. This class draws on her deep expertise in Gyrotonic®, Pilates, yoga, functional anatomy, and psychology. The flowing sequences focus on enhancing flexibility, releasing tension, mobilising joints, and expanding the spine’s full range of motion, while also building grounding, strength, and stability. It’s a unique opportunity to unlock your body’s potential, using dynamic stretches to elevate your dance practice and overall well-being.
