from inside to outside / physical theatre workshop
this workshop is suitable for movers and theatre lovers of all levels and backgrounds. i want to encourage curiosity and interest in detail, connection, and risk-taking, to grow as a person and as part of a group, and explore new terrain as a performer by using everything that we have as a tool for expression and performance: body, voice, imagination, experiences, feelings, our background and knowledge, dreams and visions, as well as working with objects and the space. we start the class by opening our channels of consciousness, meeting everything that is inside and outside of us. through sensing our body in its entirety, we give attention to the physical, instinctive, and emotional body. by awakening our voice, we establish a raised awareness of our breath. through experimenting with all of these elements and playing with changes in rhythm, dynamic, intention, tension, and the connection to our bodies and movement, we aim to discover new facets of our persona. we constantly step out of our comfort zone through playfulness, we aim for surprise, and immerse ourselves in the work of physical theatre. by feeling and moving as different characters, we bring them to life and continuously create new extensions of ourselves.

biography
originally from italy, marion received her professional dance training at varium and iwanson school. since 2014, marion has been developing her own work and touring internationally. Her choreographies are a playful connection of highly physical dance, dance-theatre, live-music, as well as photo and video installations. her work as a freelance choreographer was not only invited to dance-, but also to circus festivals, a.o. Lurupina festival, zeit für zirkus and deltebre dansa. stilles ich at the tanzcompagnie volkstheater rostock was Her first work for a state theatre company. Marion also created work for Danza joven de sinaloa, andanza colectivo, descalzinha danza, kunsthumaniora antwerp, aorca pt, epdm, and strado compagnia danza. marion has collaborated as a dancer with choreographers francisco córdova, stella zannou, sonia rodriguez, and adn-dialect. as a teacher, she has been working in several dance companies, schools, and festivals around the world, enjoying the inspiration she gets from the exchange of ideas at b12 festival, deltebre dansa, circuit-est, atlas festival, dance theatre Heidelberg, tanzcompagnie rostock, tanz kassel, staatstheater braunschweig, stadttheater bielefeld, unusual symptoms, toula limnaios company, tanz gießen, of curious nature, diavolo company, bluebox, cdnc angers, vim vigor, riga on, epdm, summerintensive pt, Hfmdk frankfurt, kinissis, performact, pera, mu festival, tanzhaus zürich, do festival, cdsh, tierras en danza, descalzinha, a.o.
