what happens when artificial and embodied intelligence meet? how might ai reshape the way we create and experience dance?

deep space is an annual platform that explores a central topic through the lens of intersectionality—the manifold identities and perspectives we bring to any space or subject. in 2025, we turn our attention to artificial intelligence: not just as a tool, but as a force shaping how we move, make, and create meaning. what lens does ai bring to our work, our conversations, our lives?

deep space 2025 is a two-part event series at the intersection of ai and contemporary dance.

part 1 is an interactive panel discussion with leading voices from ai and the dance world, exploring the creative possibilities and ethical challenges of this evolving relationship.

part 2 is a hands-on workshop, inviting participants to experiment with ai in dance-making—a space to play, probe, and push against the potentials and limitations of machine intelligence in creative practice.
