make the impossible possible / audition workshop
'I have become the mentor that I have always needed to have in my dance life.' - Christina Mertzani. Make the impossible possible / auditions workshop is a theoretical workshop designed to help the dancers achieve their goals. Christina will share her knowledge from all of the different roles that she has had in her dancing career in the last 19 years of experience as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, student, and artistic director, in order to guide dancers, with ease, to where they dream to go. In this specific workshop, the focus will be on dance auditions and the best way to handle them; Different Ways to find a dance job internationally; How to benefit from an audition; How to trust ourselves and find the unlimited potential and talents we have; and Techniques on how to deal with stress before, during and after an audition / competition, etc. this Mentoring workshop is for dancers that want to grow and who have to deal with auditions in their dance life (professional dance schools / companies / competitions, etc), and that want to activate and release the best version of themselves.

biography
christina mertzani, choreographer, dancer and teacher, graduated from athens state school of dance in 2004 and holds a degree in homeopathy from the akadimia of ancient greek and traditional chinese medicine. in the last 20 years, she has been teaching extensively in europe canada and asia, leading master classes, workshops, and intensives for dancers in companies, theatres, universities, and studios for professional dancers. as a performer, christina has worked with johannes wieland (germany), stella zannou (greece), peter vosperton (new zealand), kostandin mixos (greece), helder seabra (belgium), kat valastur (germany), apostolia papadamaki (greece), and performed choreographies by wim vandekeybus, mark morris and martha graham, among others. christina has worked internationally as a choreographer, performer and teacher. she has choreographed in europe and asia for different companies, theaters, universities and festivals. she has presented metamorfosis, inside, mix-up, cube, alternative bodies, stheno, run away, minotaur, beyond illusion, and video dance works entanglement, reborn temptation, and 60 pulses in more than 30 countries around the world. she was a faculty member of anton bruckner university in linz, austria, for two years. from 2010- 2019, christina mertzani co-directed, along with evangelos poulinas, one small step international contemporary dance festival in corfu, greece.
